About MCA

The Multicultural Alliance traces its lineage to 1927 with the founding of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, an organization devoted
to the elimination of bias, bigotry, and racism in the United States. In 1951, the Fort Worth, Texas chapter was created and in 2006 the National
NCCJ organization disbanded and requested that each local chapter form its own independent 501(c)3 status. With this separation, the local
board members made the decision to change the name of the organization to The Multicultural Alliance and continue the mission and purpose in
the Tarrant County Community.

The Multicultural Alliance provides programming and educational forums that address the opportunities and challenges of living in a pluralistic
society. The organization promotes understanding and respect among all races, religions, and cultures through advocacy, conflict resolution, and
education. In affirmation of the founding principles, the organization exists to promote individual and group dignity, cooperation, mutual
understanding, and respect among all peoples.

We realize change can be difficult, and slow to take place, but we also know the changes that have taken place since the founding of our
organization are almost revolutionary. We chose "not to curse the darkness," but rather "to light a candle." We have lit many candles on behalf of
racial, religious and human freedom. We invite those who are interested in our cause to join and help us in expanding and intensifying this ongoing
local crusade against bias, bigotry and oppression.

The ultimate goal is to achieve a society in which the ideals of equity and justice shall become the standard of all human
relationships. Whenever, wherever, and however possible, it shall establish the pattern of all people standing and working diligently
to be a voice for justice in our community.

The Multicultural Alliance and its programming represent all types of diversity including but not limited to race, ethnicity, age, ability/disability,
gender, religion, and sexual orientation. Our goal is to promote an inclusive community, eliminate bias, bigotry, and oppression and encourage
understanding and equity of all diversity through shared experiences and educational programming.
