PEOPLE'S ART COLLABORATIVE
November 2021 Virtual Workshop
Topic: building resilience & promoting healthy dialogue through creative movement and mindfulness
Date:
Saturday, November 13, 2021
Time / Duration:
9 - 11:30 am CST / 2.5 hours (via Zoom)
In 2020 and 2021, we found our way collectively in a “new normal” impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and we saw a more transparent society emerge following global protests around the death of George Floyd. Awareness of the intersection of mental health and the impact of trauma rooted in racism, sexism, heterosexism, ageism, ableism and beyond is increasing rapidly. Yet, as a society we remain plagued with debate and defensiveness and a growing sense
of loneliness.
By exploring ancient eastern and western cultural / indigenous traditional approaches to intersectional mental health, we can bring powerful physiological transformation and deep healing to ourselves which will help each of us enter into dialogue with others from a more authentic and open frame of mind.
For these sessions, we welcome Jennifer Mason, an integrative life and wellness coach, and Myxolydia Tyler, actor and program coordinator at The Lincoln Center in NYC, to lead participants in mindfulness, creative movement activities, visualizations and journaling to build their resilience and encourage healing.
